Get involved
Volunteering at Macquarie United isn't a massive commitment, it's whatever you can give. Some people do canteen once a month. Some people help set up and pack down on game days. Some people take on bigger roles like team manager or committee work. It all matters, and none of it goes unnoticed.
Things we always need help with:
Canteen duty
Rostered through the BDF, but we need our people there to man the canteen and cook the grub. If you can work a deep fryer and keep the chips coming, you're already overqualified.
Flag duty
First game of the day brings the flags out, last game packs them up. It's a ten-minute job and it makes a difference.
Team manager
The organisational legend who keeps a team running behind the scenes (managing the team app, chasing forms, coordinating parents)
Community event BBQs
We occasionally fire up the BBQ at local community events. If you reckon you can flip a burger without setting anything on fire, we want you.
Event help
Trivia night, presentation night, registration days
Committee roles
Governance, finance, communications, or just helping steer the club
What you get out of it: Honestly? More than you'd expect. You'll meet people. You'll feel part of something. Your kids will see you contributing to their community. And you'll get a front-row seat to some of the best and most chaotic moments in grassroots football.
Want to help?
It doesn't have to be a big deal.
You don't need to commit to every weekend. You don't need experience. You just need to be the kind of person who sees something that needs doing and does it. That's basically the job description for every volunteer at this club.
If you've got a bit of time — even occasionally — we'd love to hear from you. Flick us an email and we'll find something that fits.
