Find your level. Find your people.
We run multiple senior men's grades every season, from competitive to social and everything in between. There's a spot on the pitch with your name on it.
Our Seniors
Macquarie United fields multiple senior men's teams in the Bathurst District Football competition, and every single one of them matters to this club.
The number of grades shifts from season to season depending on player numbers — some years we run more, some years we run fewer. What doesn't change is the range. There's always a team for the blokes who want to compete hard, a team for the blokes who are here for the fitness and the friendships, and everything in between.
Whatever your level, you're not just filling a spot on the team sheet. You're part of a club that's been doing this for 40 years.
Something for Everyone
The Competitor
You want to win. You train hard, you push yourself, and you take every game seriously. Our top grade is where the standard is highest and the competition is tightest. If you've played at a decent level before or you're hungry to test yourself against the best in the district — this is your team.
The All-Rounder
You love your football. You're fit enough, you're committed enough, and you want a solid, competitive game every weekend without the pressure of the top grade. You've probably been playing for a while, or maybe you're coming back to the game after a break. Either way, you want good football with good people. That's what the middle of the club is all about.
The Social Player
Let's be honest — you're here for the mates as much as the football. Maybe more. You want to get off the couch on Saturdays, have a run, kick a ball, and spend the afternoon talking rubbish with people you actually like. You don't care about the score. You care about the experience. Our social grades are where legends are made — not because of what happens on the pitch, but because of everything that happens around it.
More Than 90 Minutes
Football at Macquarie United doesn't start at kick-off and end at full time.
There are kick arounds during the week for anyone who wants a run. There's the annual trivia night where someone always takes it way too seriously. There's presentation night. There are moments at the canteen and in the car park and on the hill that have nothing to do with football and everything to do with why you keep coming back.
This is the "friendships" part of "fun, fitness and friendships." And it's not something we have to manufacture — it just happens when you put good people together and give them something to be part of.
When do you play? Sundays, across the Bathurst district. Home games are at Proctor Park. Exact times depend on the draw — fixtures are available on the Dribl app.
Training? Wednesdays. Days and times vary by team — your coach will confirm once squads are sorted. Typically one to two sessions a week.
What does it cost? Fees are paid at registration through PlayFootball. They cover your BDF, Football NSW, and Football Australia fees plus club fees. Head to our registration page for current pricing.
What do you need? Boots, shin pads, and a willingness to turn up. Club shirts are provided. You'll need black shorts and socks — we'll let you know where to grab them.
How do I find out about draws and results? Download the Dribl app, find Macquarie United, and you'll have everything you need. Updates also go out through our Facebook page.
New to Bathurst? Perfect time to join a club. We get new players every season who've just moved to town and are looking for a way to meet people and stay active. Football is the fastest shortcut to feeling like you belong somewhere. Come to a kick around, meet the crew, and go from there.

-
Absolutely. You won't be the first bloke to rock up after a long break wondering what happened to his fitness. We see it every season. Give yourself a few weeks to blow out the cobwebs and you'll be right.
-
Come to pre-season training and the coaches will work it out. It's not a formal trial — it's about finding the right level so you enjoy your football and contribute to the team.

Yes. Our social grades are absolutely open to beginners. You'll learn as you go and the blokes around you will help. Nobody's expecting Messi in the Bathurst District comp.

Seniors is 16 and up. Beyond that, there's no upper limit. We've had players in their twenties alongside players well into their forties. That's what multiple grades gives you — space for everyone.

It changes season to season based on player numbers. The best way to find out what's happening for 2026 is to get in touch or come to pre-season training. We'll have the full picture by then.

Is there ever. Kick arounds, trivia nights, presentations, and the unofficial post-game debriefs that are half the reason people play. If you're looking for a social outlet as much as a sporting one, you've found it.
