This is your team.
We're building it with you.

Women's football at Macquarie United is growing and we want you in it. All ages. All levels. Whether you've played your whole life or you've never kicked a ball. You belong here.

Our Seniors

Here's the honest truth: women's football at Macquarie United is a work in progress. And that's exactly what makes it exciting.

We've got a strong group of women who turn up, train hard, and play proper football in the Bathurst District competition. Some seasons we field one team, some seasons we're pushing for more — it all depends on the numbers. The quality is there. The commitment is there. What we need is more of you.

We're not pretending to be a fully established program with ten teams and a waiting list. We're a club that sees what women's football could be in Bathurst and we're actively building it. Every single player who registers this season is part of making that happen.

Who Is This For?

The Returner

You played as a kid. Maybe through school, maybe at another club, maybe just in the backyard with your brothers. Life happened, football stopped, and now you're wondering if you've still got it. You have. Your body remembers more than you think, and it takes about three weeks to feel like you never left.

The Beginner

You've never played football. Not properly. Maybe you've kicked a ball around with your kids, or maybe you've watched enough games to know what offside is (roughly). You've always thought about playing a sport but never found the right one, or the right time, or the right team. This is the right team. And there is no wrong time to start.

The Player

You know the game. You've played at other clubs, or you've just moved to Bathurst, or you've been waiting for a women's program that actually feels like somewhere you want to be. You want competitive football with people who take it seriously but don't take themselves too seriously. Welcome home.

More Than 90 Minutes

Football at Macquarie United doesn't start at kick-off and end at full time.

There are kick arounds during the week for anyone who wants a run. There's the annual trivia night where someone always takes it way too seriously. There's presentation night. There are moments at the canteen and in the car park and on the hill that have nothing to do with football and everything to do with why you keep coming back.

This is the "friendships" part of "fun, fitness and friendships." And it's not something we have to manufacture — it just happens when you put good people together and give them something to be part of.

What You Need to Know

It's friendly. Like, genuinely. The women at this club are the kind of people who'll introduce themselves at your first training, make sure you're not standing on your own, and text you to check you're coming back next week. That's not a marketing line, it's just how it is.

It's all levels. We've got women who've played for years alongside women who started last season. Nobody cares where you're at. They care that you showed up.

You don't need to be fit. You'll get fit. That's what training and games do. If you can jog, you can play. If you can't jog yet, you will be able to by round four. Football fitness is different to gym fitness — and it's a lot more fun.

It's 16+. Our women's program is senior football, open to all ages sixteen and over. Whether you're 19 or 49, there's a place for you.

It's on Sundays. Games are played on Sundays in the Bathurst District competition, home and away. Home games are at Proctor Park. Training is midweek — your coach will confirm the details. Fixtures come through the Dribl app.

You just need the basics. Football boots, shin pads (under the socks, compulsory), and a water bottle. Club shirts are provided. You'll need black shorts and socks.

Life doesn't stop because it's football season. Kids get sick. Work gets in the way. We get it and we'd rather have you for the weeks you can make than not at all. Just communicate with your coach and it's all good.

The Vision

We're not just trying to fill a team sheet. We're trying to build something that lasts.

The goal is simple — grow women's football at Macquarie United so that every woman in Bathurst who wants to play has somewhere to go. More players means more teams. More teams means more opportunities. More opportunities means a proper women's program that future players can walk into and feel like it's always been here.

We want to be the club that women in Bathurst think of first when they think about playing football. We're not there yet. But every season, we get closer. And every player who joins helps us get there faster.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Genuinely, no. Some of our current players had never kicked a football before they joined. They turned up, learned as they went, and now they're out there every Saturday loving it. You don't need to know what you're doing on day one. You just need to show up.

  • You won't be. But even if you were — so what? Everyone was the newest player at some point. The women in this team are not the kind of people who judge. They're the kind of people who pass you the ball and cheer when you do something with it.

  • 16 and up, no upper limit. We've got women across a wide range of ages and that's one of the best things about it.

  • Half the team has kids. Bring them to training, bring them to games — they'll end up running around on the sideline with the other kids while you play. It's a club, not a closed session.

  • Come to a training session. No commitment, no sign-up, just come have a kick and see how it feels. If it's for you, you'll know. If it's not, no hard feelings.

  • One of the best. We hear this constantly from women who joined not really knowing anyone and ended up with a whole new circle. Football does that. Shared suffering on a cold Bathurst Saturday morning bonds people fast.

  • Through PlayFootball — we've got a step-by-step guide on our registration page to walk you through it. If you get stuck, message us and we'll help.

This is your season.

We don't care if you've played for twenty years or twenty minutes. We care that you're here. Registration is open — come be part of what we're building.
